- Customizable: There are endless ways to modify this recipe (check out our variations below), so it never gets old.
How to Make Breakfast Sliders:
Here’s a quick rundown of the steps. For detailed measurements, check out the full recipe at the bottom.
- Slice the Rolls: Use a large serrated knife to slice a pack of dinner rolls in half. Place the bottom half in a baking dish, brushing them with melted butter.
- Layer with Goodness: Begin layering with scrambled eggs, followed by cooked breakfast sausage, crispy bacon, and a generous layer of cheese.
- Top and Brush: Place the top half of the dinner rolls on top and brush with the remaining butter.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake until golden, gooey, and irresistible!
What Type of Rolls Should You Use?
Most slider recipes use Hawaiian Rolls because of their subtle sweetness, but you can also opt for standard dinner rolls (white or wheat). For a homemade touch, try baking your own rolls using our easy Dinner Roll Recipe—light, fluffy, and perfect for sliders!
The Secret Sauce:
The magic is in the buttery topping! A mixture of butter, garlic salt, and mustard adds so much flavor that your family will keep coming back for more. Pro tip: If prepping the sliders ahead of time, wait until just before baking to brush on the sauce.
Customizing Your Breakfast Sliders:
While the classic version is incredible, here are a few ways to customize these sliders to suit any taste:
- Veggie Lovers: Add sautéed onions, peppers, mushrooms, or spinach to the egg layer for extra texture and flavor.
- Cheese Variations: Swap Colby jack for Swiss, provolone, cheddar, or even pepper jack for a spicy kick.
- Meat Alternatives: Don’t like sausage or bacon? Use ham, Canadian bacon, or even turkey sausage instead.
- Spice It Up: Try using Everything Bagel Seasoning in the butter sauce for a fun and savory twist.
Baking Tips:
- Cover and Bake: Covering the sliders with foil for the first 20 minutes of baking ensures that they stay soft inside while cooking evenly. For the last 5 minutes, uncover them to allow the tops to crisp up beautifully.
- Watch the Cheese: The goal is to melt the cheese perfectly, without burning the tops of the rolls.
Make-Ahead Instructions:
These breakfast sliders are a time-saver if you want to prep them in advance. Assemble everything the night before, cover the pan, and store it in the fridge. The next morning, simply add the melted butter and bake. This also makes weeknight dinners a breeze!

Ingredients
This Breakfast Sliders Recipe is going to be your family's new favorite recipe! Layer upon layer of delicious flavors that come together in the perfect breakfast slider. This breakfast recipe is perfect for a family brunch, but so delicious you will want to make it for dinner regularly!
Total: 50minutes
- 1/2 pound breakfast sausage (226.8 grams)
- 6 slices thick cut bacon diced (113 grams)
- 12 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 12 slider rolls
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter divided (113 grams)
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt divided
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard divided
- 8 ounces Colby Jack cheese slices or cheddar (226.8 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat. Cook the bacon and the sausage together, breaking up the sausage. Stir frequently until both the bacon and the sausage are completely cooked through, about 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from the skillet with a slotted spoon and drain on a towel.
- 1/2 pound breakfast sausage,6 slices thick cut bacon
- While the sausage and bacon are cooking, start making the eggs by preheating a large skillet over medium-low heat.
- In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, kosher salt, and pepper.
- 12 large eggs,2 tablespoons milk,1/4 teaspoon black pepper,1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Melt the butter in the preheated skillet. Pour in the egg mixture. Allow it to set for a moment, about 30 seconds, and then using a spatula, start pulling the edge of the mixture toward the center of the pan. Continue to do this as the eggs begin to solidify. Once the eggs are light and fluffy (about 7 to 10 minutes), remove them from the heat.
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Slice your slider rolls in half so that you have a bottom layer and a top layer. Place the bottom layer in the prepared casserole dish. (The tops might not all stay together, and that is okay. You will be able to arrange them at the end.)
- 12 slider rolls
- Melt the butter. Whisk in the garlic salt and the ground mustard. Divide the butter mixture in two. Brush the bottom half of the rolls with half the mixture.
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter,1 teaspoon garlic salt,1 teaspoon ground mustard
- Add the egg layer. Then add the bacon and sausage layer. Finally, add the cheese. Add the tops of the rolls on top of the cheese.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining butter mixture. Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 5 more minutes.
